NEWS: ALL ABOARD FOR THE LIVEWELL FOUNDATION

ALL ABOARD FOR THE LIVEWELL FOUNDATION!

Congratulations to Livewell Southwest employees, Geoff Baines, Acting Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Safety and Quality and David Dodd, Training Advisor and Unison Lead Rep, who have helped to raise more than £1,800 for the Livewell Foundation by taking part in a sailing pursuit.

The Livewell Foundation is the charitable arm of Livewell Southwest, which as well as supporting patients and their families, also supports projects in the local community that reduce social isolation, improve health and wellbeing, or prevent ill-health.

Geoff arranged for three boats to enter under the Foundation, including one led by David, at the annual Eddystone Charity Sailing Pursuit, a 26 mile sailing marathon, which raises money for charities nominated by the individual yachts which enter.

The charities supported must “benefit the human condition” and have a Registered Charity Number.

The Foundation won the special team prize which gave their funds at £250 boost. Including generous sponsorship, a total of £1,819.63 was raised for the charity.

Geoff, who is also a Trustee of the Livewell Foundation, said: “All survived and it was a bit of an endurance event. Thank you to everyone who supported and sponsored us."
